I’m Fully Vaccinated for Covid, Now What?

The City of New Orleans is leading the country in Covid vaccinations. As of today, there are 3 covid vaccinations available in the United States: Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Want to know which one to get? My answer is, whichever one is available.

What does “fully vaccinated mean?”

A person is considered “fully vaccinated” for Covid two weeks after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks after receiving the single-dose J&J vaccine according to the CDC.
It is unclear how long the immunity lasts from the vaccine. The best practice is to continue to practice social distancing and wear a mask. The CDC released new guidelines for people who are fully vaccinated. Yep, it’s safe for fully vaccinated people to visit with other people who are fully vaccinated, as well as some unvaccinated people.

My Plans

Yes, I will continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing. My vaccine may protect me from severe illness, but there isn’t enough data to know for how long. Covid cases are still here. There are also variants.

I DO Plan to GET OUT of the HOUSE more. For the past year, I have been grieving and dealing with a pandemic alone. I miss my friends, hugs and face to face conversation.

Here’s my To Do List:

1. Dine at ALL of the restaurants with outdoor seating. Check out the blog.

2. Have cocktails on a patio.

3. Soak up the sun in a cabana at a rooftop pool.

4. Take a long walk in a historic neighborhood.

5. Dress up for no reason.

6. Get more steps in with my Girl Trek walking krewe.

7. Visit a local museum.

8. Listen to live outdoor music.

9. Visit an art gallery.

10. Take a road trip.

What are you going to do?
