Self Love is FLY Minimalism

Self Love is FLY Minimalism

After my husband passed, my mindset shifted and I decided to focus more on quality of life. I realized that self worth and self love were not tied to “things.” I knew that I wanted to be more conscious about the products that I purchased, which meant doing more research on brand values and looking at product labels. I knew that I wanted to simplify my beauty routine and tasks so that I would have more time to do the things that fulfilled my life’s purpose. I knew that I wanted to have my finances in order. I realized that I had way too many clothes in my closet. I would finally understand that less is more! I think that we have all learned a lesson on minimalism during this pandemic!

By definition, Minimalism is a style or technique that is characterized by extreme spareness and simplicity. In other words, “Less is More.” So how can self love be a form of minimalism? The answer is simple. In today’s society we look for love through things. We compare ourselves to others. We associate happiness with buying clothes, shoes and handbags. Yes, I know that “receiving gifts” is one of the five love languages. FLY Minimalism teaches you to be comfortable in your own skin and with your own life.

Let me tell you, I’ve done some soul searching on this grief journey. Grief changed me. I will never be the same, nor do I want to be. I’m FLYing. I am taking the time to find ME. I’m Loving Myself First.

My entire world has changed. I am in the process of moving out of the home that I shared with husband. As I search for a new home, I am searching with intention. As I pack up my home, I am taking only what I truly need. When I move into my new space, I will eliminate clutter. I intend to incorporate FLY Minimalism in all aspects of my life and I want you to join me!
